As the Champions League enters its decisive phase, Opta has delivered its probabilities for the final victory!
Liverpool as the big favourite, PSG progress
Liverpool stands out as the main favourite with a 19.2% chance of winning the title, an increase since the draw (17.2%). PSG, who will face Liverpool, sees its odds increase slightly to 9.5% compared to 8.8% previously. Paris is the favourite for the first leg (39.8% compared to 35.1% for Liverpool) but remains in difficulty on the qualification (41.7% compared to 58.3%).
Barça and Inter Milan in ambush
FC Barcelona is the second favourite with a 14.8% chance of winning. It has a 74% chance of eliminating Benfica and 31.7% of reaching the final. Inter Milan follows with 14%, overtaking Arsenal (11.6% compared to 13.6% previously). Defending champion Real Madrid is ranked fifth favourite with a 9.8% chance of winning. However, he is the favourite against Atlético in the round of 16 (57.6% against 42.4%), but his chances decrease as the rounds go by (17.1% to reach the final).
Atlético, an underestimated challenger
According to Opta, Atlético is in trouble. Its chances of winning are low (4.2%), but a quarter-final qualification against Real could change the cards (19.5% to go through to the semi-finals).
The outsiders: Lille on an impossible mission
The second French team involved, Lille is a real outsider with only a 1.1% chance of winning. Facing Dortmund in the round of 16, the Northerners are slightly disadvantaged (46% chance of qualifying against 54% for Borussia). If Opta paints an accurate picture, football remains unpredictable. The past has shown that even underestimated teams can defy predictions, like Real Madrid in 2022 when they only had a 1% chance of winning.
