After hanging up his boots, Adebayor wasted no time in embarking on a new venture, delving into agriculture.
He partnered with Thione Niang, the executive director of the Thione Niang Group, already established in Senegal, to develop this project.
Adebayor had sought out the group, specialized in promoting agriculture and digital solutions, with the idea of implementing agricultural technologies in Togo.
Strangely, after numerous announcements about this new project, Adebayor then seemed to fade into the background, giving the impression that he had permanently set aside his passion for agriculture.
However, that’s without counting on the former captain of the Sparrowhawks, who, even in the shadows, continues to lay the groundwork for the success of his project. Recently, he chose to meet with the Togolese Prime Minister, Victoire Tomegah Dogbé, presenting her with the outlines of his project and also discussing matters related to the activities of his foundation, SEA.
Moreover, Adebayor, who will soon organize a major match to mark the end of his career, also chose to share the news with Victoire Tomegah Dogbé.
To her, the former Togolese international also expressed his readiness to “support young people” for the advancement of Togo and Africa.
“This morning, I had a cordial meeting with Madame Victoire Tomegah Dogbe, Prime Minister, on various topics related to the activities of my foundation SEA, including the organization of my testimonial match this year and the launch of the 2nd cohort of young agricultural entrepreneurs for our project of ‘incubation and socio-professional integration of Togolese youth in agribusiness’.
I am excited about the new perspectives and remain committed, along with my team, to supporting young people for the future of Togo and Africa. Together, we are working towards a better future,” the former player posted on his Instagram account.
