Real Madrid and its president, Florentino Pérez, lifted a new Champions League trophy this Saturday, June 1st, 2024.
For the 15th time in its history, the club secured the prestigious trophy, this time against the formidable team of Borussia Dortmund.
In a span of 10 consecutive seasons, Real Madrid has clinched the trophy 6 times, including three consecutive wins between 2016 and 2018 under the helm of Zinedine Zidane. Carlo Ancelotti, the man who led the club to its tenth Champions League title in 2014, once again guided his team to lift the 15th trophy.
Real Madrid has clearly dominated Europe for a decade, and according to the club’s President, Florentino Pérez, there’s no sign of it stopping anytime soon.
Immediately after the victory on June 1st, 2024, Pérez indicated that he’s already looking forward to the 16th triumph next season. “I want to win the 16th next season. There is a love story between the Champions League and Real Madrid,” he stated.
Pérez evidently doesn’t want to give his players any rest and makes it clear to them the club’s ambition for the upcoming season already.
Even though they are celebrating, they must understand that they need to replicate the feat in a year to once again meet the demands of their president.
And to increase their chances, Florentino Pérez doesn’t hesitate to invest in bolstering Real Madrid’s squad. Kylian Mbappé is heavily rumored to join to strengthen the already formidable Madrid team.
