Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, is reportedly unhappy with the club’s stance on the future of French defender Ferland Mendy.

Mendy, aged 29, ended the season strongly for Real Madrid.

Indeed, the footballer played a significant role in their triumph in the Champions League and in securing the closure of the Liga.

However, he has consistently been unavailable due to suffering injuries throughout his time at Los Blancos.

With his contract expiring next summer, the club is reportedly willing to let him go this summer.

Ancelotti wants to keep Mendy

The Italian tactician is a big admirer of Mendy and has already dubbed him the best player in his position in world football. Therefore, according to Relevo, he is not satisfied with the club’s stance and prefers to keep Mendy beyond this summer.

Ferland Mendy joined the club in 2019 but has only managed 170 appearances, averaging 34 appearances per season.

This is not a significant number considering the number of competitions Real Madrid participates in during a season.

According to reports, his injury troubles and contract status have led Real Madrid to pursue Bayern Munich’s left-back Alphonso Davies.
