Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has reaffirmed his confidence in the team’s designated penalty-takers, despite Kylian Mbappé’s recent failures in this exercise.
Ancelotti confirmed that Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham remain the team’s priority penalty-takers. This statement comes after Mbappé missed his second penalty in a week, in the 2-1 defeat by Athletic Club in La Liga.
The Frenchman also missed a penalty in Madrid’s Champions League defeat by Liverpool a week earlier.
Speaking after the loss at San Mamés, the Italian coach said:
“There won’t be any changes. Our penalty-takers are Mbappé, Vini and Jude. Whoever takes them is competent.”
