Defender Fran García has been added to Real Madrid’s injury list, which already includes Carvajal, Militão, Mendy, and Ceballos.
One of the striking images from the match between Villarreal and Real Madrid was the final moments. Several Real Madrid players were left lying on the pitch, exhausted from the effort they had put in to secure the 2-1 victory. Fran Garcia injured his left abductor muscle in the final minutes of the match.
Marca reported this morning that the left-back is injured and is now doubtful for Real Madrid’s next match after the international break, against Leganés at the Santiago Bernabéu on March 29.
La Cantera as reinforcements
With Ferland Mendy also injured, but likely to play in the Champions League match against Arsenal, the priority is to get Fran García back for the upcoming La Liga matches.
If the Spanish full-back isn’t fit enough by the end of the international break, Ancelotti could decide to give a chance to a Canterano, the young Valdepeñas. The 18-year-old defender is playing at a very good level for Castilla and was called up to the senior squad for the trip to Villarreal.
UPDATE: A club source tells Real France that Fran only has a minor thigh injury and needs a week’s rest at most. He should be ready after the international break against Leganés.
