Regarding the next Ballon d’Or winner for 2024, Zlatan Ibrahimović is adamant. According to him, neither Vinicius Jr. nor Jude Bellingham deserves to win this prestigious trophy.
To determine his favorite player, the former Barça striker based his opinion on the player’s performances from previous years. Ibrahimović believes that Lionel Messi should be the winner of the Ballon d’Or 2024.
The former footballer went even further. He stated that if he were to host the ceremony, he would declare Lionel Messi the winner even if his name wasn’t on the paper. Simply because the Argentine player is a legend.
“If Messi attends the ceremony and I’m the one presenting the Ballon d’Or, even if someone else wins, I’ll still say that Leo Messi is the winner.
Has the player who will win this year performed like Messi when he won? Did he break records, score miraculous goals? Did he score 50 goals in a season? Did he dribble past an entire team?
So Messi will remain the best until someone comes along and does better than him. Even Messi’s worst season is better than whoever wins this year.”
