According to the Catalan press, there are five players who are seriously considering leaving. It’s gearing up to be a very eventful and complicated summer for FC Barcelona.

Firstly, there’s the Xavi situation to address once again. In yet another twist, despite the coach and Joan Laporta officially confirming the continuity of the former midfielder just a few weeks ago, everything now indicates he’s on the way out due to a public statement that the president reportedly didn’t appreciate.

On top of that, there’s the looming financial crisis. As revealed by the Spanish press, the club needs to raise €100 million before the end of June just to comply with La Liga’s 1:1 financial fair play rule, which would allow Barcelona to use every euro coming into the club to strengthen the team. As of now, the club can’t register any new arrivals.

Farewell Scenes

Naturally, significant sales are necessary to generate income. And quickly. As reported by Relevo, several players are on their way out. Particularly noteworthy is the post-match scene where these players took photos in the stadium with their families, clearly indicating farewells. These players include Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, and Ronald Araujo, all of whom have substantial market value and have been seriously linked with departures for months. The situation is even more evident for the Brazilian, as he lingered on the Montjuic pitch for quite some time, accompanied by his family.

He, along with Araujo, was the last to leave the pitch, with interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia for him, while the Uruguayan is closely followed by Bayern Munich. Oriol Romeu and Marcos Alonso also participated in scenes resembling farewells, and both, having been relegated to secondary roles, are expected to leave the club without much doubt during the summer. The coming weeks are expected to be filled with transfer news in Catalonia.
