On Tuesday evening, PSG secured their spot in the Champions League semi-finals on FC Barcelona’s turf. Following the final whistle of the quarter-final second leg between the two clubs, Kylian Mbappé openly displayed his joy, sparking a massive clash.
Drawn against FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals, PSG faced a tough challenge. After a 2-3 defeat at Parc des Princes, the Parisian club needed a win away at Barça. And Luis Enrique’s men did more than just that on Tuesday night, securing a 1-4 victory on the road.
Mbappé incites Barça players
After the final whistle of Barça-PSG, Kylian Mbappé unleashed his joy as he headed towards his team’s dressing room. Upon entering the tunnel, the number 7 stirred up a huge clash with Luis Enrique’s players.
“It’s on the field that we should speak”
According to Mundo Deportivo, Kylian Mbappé shouted, “this is football and it’s on the field that we should speak.” As the 25-year-old star let loose in Spanish, several FC Barcelona players heard and understood him, becoming agitated when they realized he was addressing them. According to the Spanish media, Xavi’s proteges felt provoked by Kylian Mbappé and confronted him.
Apart from insults and shouts, there were also shoving matches following a gathering. In total, about sixty individuals, including players, staff members, and security personnel, were involved.
