Loop playback activated. A year after deciding to stay at Bayer Leverkusen after a legendary season at the helm of the German club, Xabi Alonso is once again facing his future.
The 43-year-old coach, tied to the reigning German champions until 2026 but still highly sought after, will have to make a decision in the coming weeks.
And according to AS, Alonso could announce his decision as early as this Thursday, during his press conference scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The newspaper even believes that Alonso intends to honor his contract, and therefore stay at Leverkusen until June 2026. This news would obviously please everyone internally. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid, for their part, will decide to make a concrete move to land the Spaniard, who has often been linked with the Merengues in recent months.
