Continuously struggling to find a coach for next year, Bayern Munich might rely on the opinion of its dressing room.
The situation seems never-ending. By late February 2024, following a string of poor results, Thomas Tuchel announced his departure from Bayern Munich at the end of the 2023-2024 season. Since then, it has been a real challenge for Max Eberl, the Bavarian sports director, and his teams to find a replacement. About twenty names have been mentioned to succeed Thomas Tuchel, but nothing has materialized so far, and Bayern Munich has faced repeated setbacks.
An abnormal situation for this European powerhouse. Consequently, board meetings are multiplying on the other side of the Rhine, and a quirky idea has crossed the minds of Bavarian executives. According to Bild, convincing Thomas Tuchel to stay in his position is not currently ruled out. Especially since Thomas Tuchel did not officially bid farewell during the last home match of the season against Wolfsburg (2-0).

Bayern Munich has weapons to convince the former Parisian manager to stay. Sky Sports Germany adds that Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller have even approached the Bavarian board to campaign in this direction. Moreover, there are other supporters such as Leroy Sané, Harry Kane, Eric Dier, and Jamal Musiala, who appreciate their coach. Tuchel’s assistant coaches, Zsolt Löw, Arno Michels, and especially Anthony Barry, are also very popular among the majority of the dressing room.
A U-turn, akin to Xavi Hernández in Catalonia, is therefore not an option to be ruled out at the Allianz Arena. However, Bayern Munich still maintains the main idea of finding a replacement for Thomas Tuchel. Nevertheless, the latest major candidate, Hansi Flick, will not be Bayern Munich’s coach, according to the German media. Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton and Erik ten Hag from Manchester United are still on the shortlist, but nothing concrete has materialized yet.
