After facing multiple rejections, the Bavarian giant turns to a known coach, but one who hasn’t really had a successful 2023/2024 season. The situation becomes embarrassing for a club of Bayern Munich’s stature.
Who would have bet on the inability of the Bavarian giant to find a new coach? On May 17th, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that discussions had indeed taken place with the management (to make him stay, editor’s note), but that he would indeed leave Munich at the end of the season. “This is the last press conference at Säbener Straße (Bayern’s training center, editor’s note).
The agreement from February remains. There have been other discussions, but we have not reached an agreement.” Since then, the Munich leadership has faced a series of refusals. Indeed, no less than seven have rebuffed FCB in recent weeks: Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Zinedine Zidane, Oliver Glasner, Roberto De Zerbi, and therefore Thomas Tuchel. They, who had promised the arrival of the new coach in April, apparently encounter more problems than expected. This did not prevent sports director Max Eberl from playing the optimist.
Kompany relegated to the Championship

Skysport Germany claims that Bayern has set its sights on Vincent Kompany! Coach of Burnley since the 2022-2023 season, the former Belgian defender has just been relegated to the Championship with his club. Suffice it to say that Kompany didn’t really expect to be approached by such a team.
Under contract with Burnley until 2028, the Belgian has already been in contact with Bayern, who seem intrigued by this option. Currently on vacation, the former Red Devil is giving himself a few days to think. Will he be the eighth coach to reject the Munich offer? The answer shouldn’t be too long in coming.
