Jude Bellingham and his teammate Vinicius Junior were asked about the highly probable arrival of Mbappé at Madrid.
On this “Media Day” at Valdebebas, journalists posed numerous questions to the players and coach of Real Madrid, just five days away from the Champions League final. A final that Mbappé, like others, will watch on television, as Ancelotti stated. Nevertheless, Vinicius and Bellingham, among others, were questioned about the French forward.
“You have to talk to the president and see what Kylian will say, it’s him who decides his future,” Vinicius simply responded, while Bellingham was more forthcoming. “It’s good that you ask me about next year’s lineup. I don’t choose and certainly don’t conclude signings, but you know, Kylian Mbappé… Do you know any player who wouldn’t want to play with someone as good as him? I don’t want to put more pressure on the situation. For him, it’s probably tough that everyone always talks about him, but yes, he would fit in very well,” stated Bellingham.
On a completely different subject, Vinicius explained that Carlo Ancelotti has given him a certain freedom of movement in attack. “I watched Karim (Benzema) because he often came out of the box and I considered him an idol. Being able to train with him every day taught me a lot,” he said, adding: “I thank Ancelotti for changing my position because I had never imagined playing there. At first, I told him I didn’t want to play there, but he convinced me and made me a better player. He has great confidence in me and I have great confidence in him to change my position.”
The Brazilian adds: “I had to watch a lot of videos of how central defenders play, who are stronger than me. It’s been a great season and I’ve evolved in a year like never before. I’ve completely changed my way of playing and I’m very happy about it,” he said. An evolution that again has a certain link with Mbappé. Indeed, one can imagine the Frenchman playing on the left with Vinicius more centrally, and also seeing the two interchange during matches.
Bellingham, on the other hand, emphasized that before the final, “it’s important to play at the highest level because when we do, it becomes difficult for other teams to stop us. I’m sure the coaching staff analyzes everything about the opponent, I trust them, but to win, we have to be at 100%.”
