Karim Benzema, the former captain of Real Madrid, left the Spanish league a year ago to join the Saudi club Al Ittihad.

After spending nearly 15 seasons with the Merengue club, the French star left the Spanish capital at the age of 35.

With his club Al Ittihad, El Neuve has been in Spain for a few days in preparation for the upcoming season.

The former international and his team will face several Spanish clubs in friendly matches during this stay before returning to Saudi Arabia.

While awaiting their return to the Arabian Peninsula, Karim Benzema gave an interview and spoke about current football events. From the Ballon d’Or to Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid, and the greatness of his former club, El Neuve shared his thoughts.

For him, Vinicius Jr deserves the 2024 Ballon d’Or because he was the best player last season.

The former Olympique Lyonnais striker also mentioned that the arrival of his former national team teammate did not surprise him.

The captain of Al Ittihad said he expected this arrival sooner or later because the former Parisian is a great player and that the Madrid club was the best possible destination.

“I knew that sooner or later Mbappé would play for Real Madrid. I always thought so, and that’s how it is. He is a great player,” admitted Karim Benzema.
