Camavinga’s value down, an exception at Real Madrid

Eduardo Camavinga hasn’t been having his best season since his emergence in professional football. His market value has even declined, and he’s the only player in Madrid’s squad to do so.

Whether with the French national team or his club, Camavinga is regularly used by his coaches, but without ever truly becoming a key player. Ancelotti appreciates his passion and ability to break the lines, but his defensive lapses and excessive energy in certain duels put his team in a difficult position.

With the French national team, things aren’t rosy either. While Camavinga has often played great matches for Les Bleus, he has never been a firm starter in Didier Deschamps’ eyes. He, like Ancelotti, has used him at left-back, taking advantage of his versatility. But Camavinga is never guaranteed to be in the starting lineup for the next match.

His Value Declining
The renowned website specializing in football player market value assessments, Transfermarkt, has completed its latest update. Surprisingly, it appears that in this update, Eduardo Camavinga is the only Real Madrid player to have seen his value decrease.

The Frenchman’s value has decreased by €30 million since last June, and by €10 million since December. Camavinga is now valued at €70 million, whereas his value had risen to €100 million last summer.

In this update, Eduardo Camavinga’s decline is an exception. No Madrid player has seen a drop in market value, in fact, quite the opposite. Dani Ceballos, Mbappé, and especially Raúl Asencio have all seen growth. The latter is now valued at €30 million, having increased his market value 100-fold since June 2024.

At 22, Camavinga, however, has no need to worry about his future at Real Madrid. He is under contract until 2029 with the Madrid club, which has no plans to part ways with him. But the Frenchman knows he will have to improve in certain aspects of his game and overcome the barriers that still separate him from becoming an undisputed midfielder.
