Former footballer Carlos Tevez (40) was rushed to the hospital in Argentina after experiencing chest pains. The Argentine, who is currently the head coach of Club Atlético Independiente, spent the night in the hospital.

He was urgently transported to a clinic in Buenos Aires last night after suffering from chest pains. Tevez, who already had high blood pressure, was admitted to the hospital.

Independiente, where the 40-year-old serves as head coach, released a statement confirming Tevez’s hospitalization. The club stated, “Our coach, Carlos Tevez, was taken to the La Trinidad de San Isidro hospital with chest pains. They conducted the corresponding tests, which were satisfactory. Today, he will undergo a series of previously scheduled tests as part of a general check-up.”

In a subsequent message, the club added, “Carlos Tevez will remain hospitalized as a precautionary measure until the relevant tests are completed.”

Tevez became Independiente’s head coach in August 2023 and extended his contract in December until 2026. This decision followed his transformation of the team from relegation contenders last season to trophy contenders. The club is currently sixth in the Argentine Primera Division. Tevez made 201 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 84 goals, during his spells at West Ham, Man United, and Man City. He won two Premier League titles and the Champions League at Manchester United before moving to rival Manchester City, where he secured another Premier League title. He then joined Juventus before returning to Argentina with Boca Juniors and retiring in 2021.
