Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is going through a tough time with his club Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

In the semi-final of the Super Cup, the Portuguese received a straight red card, resulting in a two-match suspension.

According to Mundo Deportivo, to avoid the punishment, Ronaldo turned to his club.

Indeed, Cristiano Ronaldo’s suspension was not well-received at all. And Al Nassr, his team, protested against it in a letter.

Al Nassr states in the aforementioned text that Cristiano Ronaldo’s action with Ali Albulayhi, whom he struck with his elbow, is not worthy of constituting “shameful behavior.”

This was the conclusion drawn by the referee in the match report as the reason for a straight red card. According to Arriyadiyah, an Arab media outlet, it was the Portuguese forward himself who asked his team to draft the letter to defend him.

Furthermore, it remains to be seen if Al Nassr’s letter will have any effect on reducing the two-match suspension.

If not, Cristiano Ronaldo will very likely miss league matches with Al Nassr.

This will be against Al Fayha and Al Khaleej. So, we won’t see the Portuguese player until May.
