Cristiano Ronaldo, the famous Portuguese forward, has recently made a substantial investment in Vista Alegre Atlantis, a prestigious Portuguese porcelain brand.
This investment represents the acquisition of 10% of the company’s capital for an amount of 17 million euros, as announced by the Visabeira group, the owner of the brand.
Vista Alegre Atlantis, founded two centuries ago, is celebrating its bicentennial this year, and Ronaldo’s arrival is seen as a strategic asset for its international expansion. The Visabeira group has expressed satisfaction with Ronaldo’s integration, as he is one of Portugal’s most respected and admired personalities, joining their circle of investors.
This collaboration also includes a 30% stake in Vista Alegre’s Spanish subsidiary and plans to develop the group’s brands in the Asian market.
Ronaldo has always been a keen admirer of Vista Alegre and Bordallo Pinheiro products, another artistic brand owned by Visabeira.
He has expressed pride in supporting these companies’ globalization strategies and contributing to their growth. For him, this investment is a way to actively participate in promoting iconic Portuguese brands worldwide.
The group, which generates nearly 70% of its sales abroad, reported revenues of 129.6 million euros last year, solidifying its position in the European and American markets.
This new association with Cristiano Ronaldo could further boost sales and strengthen Vista Alegre Atlantis’ presence on the international stage.
Alongside his sports career, Ronaldo has demonstrated his acumen as a businessman.
In addition to his investment in porcelain, he holds stakes in the media group Cofina and in hospitality with the Pestana group, also originating from his native Madeira island.
Ranked as the highest-paid athlete in the world in 2023 by Forbes, with earnings reaching $136 million, Ronaldo is actively preparing for his post-football career.
