Cristiano Ronaldo continues to pile up the goals at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Even at 40, the Portuguese has lost none of his efficiency.
A goal machine. On Monday, Cristiano Ronaldo participated in Al-Nassr’s victory in the return match of the round of 16 of the Asian Champions League (3-0) against Esteghlal, thus securing the Saudis’ place in the quarter-finals. Absent during the first leg in Iran, CR7 who celebrated his 40th birthday at the beginning of February, piled up the goals, until becoming Al-Nassr’s top scorer with 85 contributions in 96 matches, all competitions combined.
His last goal, scored from a penalty, allows him to set a completely crazy record in top-level football. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored more goals in his career after his 30th birthday (464 goals) than before (463). Namely, he was launched into the pros at the age of 17 by Sporting. Thus, his longevity seems eternal and the ability to score goals even at over 40 years old has not dissipated.
Top scorer in the SPL
This season, the former Madrid player has struck 27 times in 32 games. He currently leads the Saudi Pro League top scorers with 18 goals in 23 appearances. Last season, the striker had already finished as the top scorer in the Saudi league (35). But despite his performances, Al-Nassr had to settle for second place in the Saudi Pro League standings. This year, CR7’s teammates are in a slightly more delicate situation with a fourth place, ten points behind leaders Al-Ittihad, after 24 matches.
