Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has reportedly launched a charm offensive, urging his Spanish national teammate Rodri to consider a switch from Manchester City to the Bernabéu.
Both pillars of La Roja played crucial roles for Spain in their run to the final of Euro 2024.
The 32-year-old defender praised the midfielder effusively, echoing his importance to the national team’s success and revealing how he has pleaded with him to join Los Blancos.

This apparent recruitment attempt comes amidst a midfield shake-up at Real Madrid. Veteran Luka Modric is nearing the twilight of his career, and Toni Kroos has officially retired.
Rodri, known for his composure on the ball and excellent tempo control, fits perfectly the profile of player sought by Carlo Ancelotti, a sentiment echoed by Carvajal.
“I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid. I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sunshine there, and to come to Madrid where we need him,” he said in an interview with Spanish radio El Partidazo de COPE. “He tells me he has a contract. But he would be perfect for us,” Dani Carvajal added.
The 28-year-old has been a cornerstone in Pep Guardiola’s successful City team, winning four consecutive historic Premier League titles.
The allure of Los Blancos, a club with a rich history of attracting world-class players, could prove tempting. While Manchester City would undoubtedly fight tooth and nail to retain their midfield maestro, a significant transfer offer from Real Madrid could trigger a bidding war.
However, Rodri’s current contract runs until 2027, placing City in a position of strength.
