Brazilian striker Endrick (17) is on the brink of joining Real Madrid, and he recently spoke with AS ahead of his imminent move to Europe.
As he prepares to leave Palmeiras and compete in the Copa America with Brazil, Endrick discussed his impressions about joining Real Madrid, emphasizing the reassurance he felt after discussions with Ancelotti and Florentino: “Talking to them when I met them put me at ease,” said the young forward.
Regarding his daily routine, Endrick described it as simple, involving training, meals, individual recovery and injury prevention work, and spending time at home playing video games or with his brother. He mentioned having little time for social media or reading messages.
Endrick also spoke about his positive relationship with fellow Brazilians Vinicius and Rodrygo, expressing admiration for their adaptation to life in Spain and their footballing journey, which he believes will greatly assist him.
Reflecting on the upcoming Copa America, Endrick expressed pride but also a sense of responsibility, stating that the Brazilian national team is expected to win every tournament they enter, with anything less than the title being unacceptable.
He recounted his meeting with Ancelotti and Florentino in Madrid, where they assured him of a warm welcome and expressed confidence in his abilities, having followed his performances at Palmeiras.
Endrick acknowledged the immense pressure to succeed at Real Madrid, especially in the Champions League, stating that winning the tournament is not just a desire but an obligation for the club.
Regarding the prospect of participating in famous comebacks (remontadas), Endrick described it as an incredible experience, imagining the tension, drama, relief, and eventual celebration.
On the topic of the Ballon d’Or, Endrick viewed it as a consequence of years of success and titles, prioritizing the team’s achievements over individual accolades.
He dismissed the arrival of Mbappé as a threat, emphasizing that in a winning team, every player contributes to success, and competition only serves to drive him to improve and win more titles.
Looking ahead to the Champions League final, Endrick expressed confidence in Real Madrid’s ability to triumph, although he acknowledged the challenge posed by a competitive team like Dortmund.
