Two days before their opening match against Scotland, the Mannschaft led by Julian Nagelsmann received some bad news.
Germany will play Euro 2024 at home, beginning their journey Friday night against Scotland in Munich, at the iconic Allianz Arena.
Although the Mannschaft is a contender for the ultimate victory, it is not perceived as a massive favorite like France or England might be. The team ventures into the unknown, propelled by a blend of experience and youthful exuberance. The first setback for Germany: a player has had to withdraw from the competition.

Aleksandar Pavlović, the 20-year-old rising star from Bayern Munich, who recently earned his first call-up to the Mannschaft against Ukraine, was set to feature in the Euros for his country. He was rewarded for his remarkable debut season in the professional ranks, with nineteen Bundesliga appearances, two goals, and two assists.
Unfortunately, suffering from tonsillitis, the midfielder had to withdraw, as revealed by Sky Sport Germany with confirmation from the German Football Federation. Emre Can, the experienced midfielder from Dortmund, will replace Pavlović in the squad.
