The French team suffered from Kylian Mbappé’s absence against the Netherlands.
While Les Bleus created some good opportunities, they lacked finishing prowess from Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembélé, and Marcus Thuram. The question now is whether Mbappé will reclaim his spot against Poland, although Raymond Domenech prefers caution.
After breaking his nose against Austria, Kylian Mbappé missed the match against the Netherlands. On Saturday night, he played against Paderborn’s youth team and scored twice. He’s getting used to his mask, and his participation in the match against Poland seems likely.
“Deschamps is not obliged to start Mbappé”
In the show L’Équipe de Greg, former French coach Raymond Domenech gave his opinion on Mbappé’s participation in the final group match: “No, he is not obliged to start him. If Kylian trains and is fit, then he will play, but it’s not an obligation because the coach decides which team to field.”
“If there’s any doubt, there’s no point in putting him in the team”
