Fabio Capello, the former coach of Real Madrid, closely follows football news and doesn’t hesitate to give his opinion.
The former England Three Lions coach spoke about how he first discovered Lionel Messi.
“During the Gamper match, I watched Messi for 20/25 minutes and asked Rijkaard to let him go on loan, he was a genius,” he explained.
As for Lamine Yamal, Fabio Capello believes he won’t follow the same path as the Argentine.
“Lamine Yamal has great quality and interesting talent, but he won’t be a genius like Messi, Pelé, and Maradona. They are geniuses,” the former Italian coach said. Capello also commented on the rivalry that has always existed between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo is a great player who has won titles and Ballon d’Ors, but he’s not a genius like Messi.
For me, whenever they ask me about Cristiano and Messi, I always say Messi.
Ronaldo is a great player who shoots, creates, and does everything, but he’s not a genius. It’s as simple as that!” he declared.
