The Mbappé saga is wearing thin for many in France. The farewells, the absences, his outings in Cannes, and the frenzy that surrounds every move of the footballer weigh heavily on them. Constant criticism is directed towards the Paris Saint-Germain player.
The latest to join the chorus is Emmanuel Petit. The former French international expressed his frustration at always having to talk about everything surrounding Kylian Mbappé. During his appearance on Rothen’s show on RMC, he offered some advice.
“Enough is enough, we’re fed up with all of this. He needs to reconnect, come down from his cloud a bit, and have the humility he had at the beginning of his career. I was your first supporter, but today I’ve had enough. If I could personally take you to the Madrid airport, I would. That’s how much you annoy me.”
Petit discussed what will happen tonight when Mbappé is available to play the Coupe de France against Lyon. He still has the chance to win another title with PSG. “If he wins the trophy or puts in a great performance, he’ll make up for all the crappy weeks we’ve just endured.”
“I have the feeling that many at PSG don’t want to see him at the club anymore. For me, he’s playing for high stakes because the last six months have been disastrous in terms of relationships, communication, not to mention the sporting aspect and results. The tribute last week was ridiculous. I don’t feel like Mbappé wants to play this final,” he added.
This isn’t the first time Petit has expressed his annoyance with Mbappé. “We’re all tired in France; every six months, it’s the same story on the table. Is he leaving? Is he staying? Is he happy? Did he have a good breakfast this morning? Did he have a good poop this morning? In France, we’ve had enough. I understand that players also get irritated by this situation because all the attention is always on Mbappé. We don’t talk about PSG; we always talk about Mbappé. It can be a problem for some players to handle this situation. That’s why I said I’m tired of talking about it every three weeks,” he told AS last February.
