Former Chelsea manager José Mourinho has praised one of Real Madrid’s top midfielders.
Indeed, veteran midfielder Luka Modric received accolades from the former Real Madrid manager, who dubbed the Croatian international the “beauty of football.”
Having joined the illustrious manager from Tottenham in the summer of 2012, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has emerged as one of the world’s greatest players.

Luka Modric has featured in 531 matches over 12 years at the Santiago Bernabeu, contributing 39 goals and 86 assists.
The footballer has made 43 appearances this season across all competitions, despite nearing 40 years of age.
“Luka Modrić? He is the beauty of football,” José Mourinho stated, as reported by Madrid Xtra. “It’s my pride because I brought him to Real Madrid when nobody believed he was a Real Madrid player,” the Portuguese added.
The 39-year-old was Croatia’s standout player when they reached the 2018 World Cup final and will go down as one of Real Madrid’s all-time greats.
It’s worth noting that manager José Mourinho is currently available after being sacked from AS Roma. However, a Turkish club has recently expressed interest in acquiring his services.
Amidst numerous rumors linking him to Manchester United as a replacement for Erik Ten Hag, the Portuguese is reportedly favoring a move to Turkish club Besiktas, with negotiations underway.
