A new chapter definitively began on July 1st as Kylian Mbappé is no longer under contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Today, July 1st, 2024 marks day one of Kylian Mbappé’s era at Real Madrid. The Frenchman is officially a player of his dream club after spending 7 years under Paris Saint-Germain and their Qatari owners. They made no concessions until June 30th.
But on July 1st, Kylian Mbappé woke up officially a player of the Whites, and the club wasted no time in claiming him. On their website, the club updated their squad list with Mbappé now listed as a forward under Carlo Ancelotti. Similarly, Endrick will also be part of the squad this season. On the less pleasant side, Toni Kroos has naturally departed.
Presentation on July 16th: In practical terms, Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé no longer need to hide the start of their new partnership from this day. Until now, Mbappé being under contract with PSG was a hindrance because his rights still belonged to the Parisian club, and legally, he couldn’t be part of any promotional activities or appear with another team’s jersey. This explains why he hasn’t posed in a Real Madrid shirt and why the announcement of the transfer was understated.
Mbappé has been added to the official Real Madrid website: From now on, Real Madrid can also manage Kylian Mbappé’s injury sustained during the first match. The club can send its medical staff to Germany alongside the French national team’s staff to take care of the French captain. Until now, only PSG had the right to do so, though they obviously didn’t act given the circumstances.
The next step is Mbappé’s presentation, scheduled for July 16th as confirmed by several reliable sources this morning. The roof will even be closed for the event, as reported by AS and Relevo.
However, Mbappé’s new Madrid jersey is still not available for sale in the club’s official store. Why? Because the Frenchman still doesn’t have an assigned number, and all indications are that the club is waiting for his presentation to reveal everything and launch merchandising operations around their new Galactico.
