Cristiano Ronaldo has partially won the lawsuit against Juventus Turin regarding unpaid salaries. The Italian club is obligated to pay him 10 million euros. The Arbitral Tribunal, to which Ronaldo appealed, “sentences Juventus Turin to pay the sum of 9,774,166.66 euros,” plus interest and legal costs, as stated in its decision.

This amount represents the difference between the salary Ronaldo actually received and what he should have received after taxes and other deductions. Ronaldo, who spent three seasons in Italy with Juventus (2018-21) before moving to Manchester United (2021-22) and then the Saudi club Al Nassr, was seeking 19.5 million euros, but the arbitration committee reduced this amount by 50%.

When contacted by AFP, Juventus declined to comment but stated that they would release a statement “shortly.”

According to the ranking established by the American economic magazine Forbes, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was the highest-paid athlete in the world in 2023, earning $136 million, including $46 million in salaries.
