Despite his record transfer of €65 million to Real Madrid, Kaka, the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner, faced some difficulties adapting to Real Madrid’s style of play. He had to make some adjustments to meet the club’s needs.

During an interview with Sky Sports, the Brazilian genius shared his experience at Real Madrid. Kaka played for Madrid for four seasons, from 2009 to 2013, before returning to his former team, AC Milan.

Additionally, Kaka suffered injuries that limited his playing time at the club. He was only featured in the starting lineup for 61 league matches, which represents less than 40% of the possible matches. Reflecting on his time at Real Madrid, Kaka admitted to having to adapt his playing style to the differences between Italian and Spanish football.

“I had to change my game a bit. Real Madrid’s style is very aggressive, so when you’re winning 3-0, the fans still demand more. It’s Real Madrid, always on the offensive. You have to adapt,” said the Brazilian legend to Sky Sports.
