Karim Benzema has returned to Real Madrid to receive treatment for a muscle injury, announced Al-Ittihad, his current team, on Wednesday.
Karim Benzema has gone back to the training center at Valdebebas, Real Madrid, to undergo further examinations and receive assistance for his injury treatment. Al-Ittihad, his current club, confirms their gratitude to Real Madrid for their assistance in managing Benzema’s injury. The Spanish club has decided in agreement with Al-Ittihad to take charge of the care for the striker from the Saudi club.
“In coordination with the medical departments of Al-Ittihad and Real Madrid, Karim Benzema will undergo medical tests on the injury he suffered this season,” reads the official statement from the Saudi club.
The Frenchman aims for a recovery by the end of the season. The striker has already missed the Cup semi-final lost to Al-Hilal. His club, Al-Ittihad, still needs to qualify for the Asian Champions League next season, currently standing 5th in the standings, two points away from third place.
After spending 14 years with Real Madrid, where he won all possible trophies, Karim Benzema decided to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023. Benzema’s story with Real Madrid is rich and eventful. Arriving at the club in 2009 from Lyon, he quickly endeared himself to the Madrid fans with his elegance on the ball and finishing qualities. Over the years, he became an essential part of the team’s success, forming a formidable attacking trio with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, commonly known as the “BBC”.
