Karim Benzema breaks his silence and makes some powerful statements about Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior. Revelations!
Now living in Saudi Arabia for almost two years, Karim Benzema continues to keep a close eye on news from his former club, Real Madrid. Keeping a low profile in the media, the former Ballon d’Or winner granted an exclusive interview to Edu Aguirre on the “Los Amigos de Edu” program, where he talks about his daily life at Al-Ittihad, his future in soccer, and above all two burning issues: Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr. Frank and to the point.
A life in Saudi Arabia and a future close to Real
Since leaving Real Madrid in 2023, Karim Benzema has been enjoying a new experience in the colors of Al-Ittihad. Even away from Spain, the striker insists he has kept similar habits to those he had in Madrid. “My daily routine is similar to that in Madrid. I wake up, train at home in the gym, and in the afternoon I train with the team. In the evening, I sometimes go out for dinner or visit the beach…”
As for his future, Benzema remains cautious, but makes no secret of his desire to stay in the world of soccer and close to the Madrid club.
“As for my future, I don’t know. I’ve got two years left on my contract with Al-Ittihad. It depends on how I feel each year. Being a coach is undoubtedly more complicated than being a player. I want to stay close to soccer. I want to stay close to Florentino when I retire,” he declared.
Mbappé under pressure from Real Madrid
A close observer of the Merengue, Karim Benzema is also keeping a close eye on Kylian Mbappé’s Madrid debut. He knows better than anyone the expectations placed on the French striker. Far from making comparisons, the former Lyon man warns his young compatriot against the expectations and pressure within the White House.
“His situation is different from the one I experienced. I arrived very young, at 21, and he arrived at 25. He knows that at Real, if you fail, you’re killed because they bought you just to score goals. The pressure is enormous and he knows it,” stressed KB9.
Vinicius and the missed Ballon d’Or
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner was also keen to defend Vinicius Jr, at the heart of a controversy after failing to win the prestigious award against Rodri on October 28.
“I don’t want to talk about France Football… Vinicius was decisive in every match of a year in which he won the Champions League, and there’s nobody who deserves it more than him. I watch soccer and I see that he does things that only the best do. I sent him a message when he didn’t win the Ballon d’Or, he was sad,” explained the Nueve.
