French team forward Kingsley Coman feels “physically well” after over four months disrupted by injuries.
In a recent statement from the Paderborn base camp, he expressed readiness to play in the first match of Euro 2024.
“I feel good physically, I feel better, day after day, it’s progressing well,” he said at a press conference from the Home Deluxe Arena.
The French player made his comeback on the field on June 9, 2024, during France’s last preparatory match against Canada.
The Bayern winger came on fifteen minutes before the end of the match, replacing Ousmane Dembélé.
“There are still a few days left, and I’ll see what I can do with the coach (Didier Deschamps), but what’s certain is that already, I’m ready to play 15, 20, 30 minutes,” Coman added. The Bayern Munich player with 58 caps (8 goals) had injured his knee at the end of January and then his groin again during training in April just as he had resumed competition.
“It was a big scare, it was the knee where I had been injured, but a few seconds later I got up, I even wanted to continue training,” he said.
The images were impressive, but he wasn’t afraid of missing the Euro.
The media were more scared than him, he admitted with a broad smile: “There are plenty of times when I cry out in pain.”
