Mohamed Salah may well have made a big decision for his future!
As the transfer market heats up behind the scenes, Liverpool could well secure one of its key assets for the coming seasons. Mohamed Salah, whose future at Anfield has seemed uncertain in recent months, now appears closer to a contract extension than a move to Saudi Arabia. While Saudi clubs, notably Al-Hilal, had made the Egyptian their priority, negotiations never really progressed. Internally, Liverpool remains calm, convinced that their star striker prefers a contract extension rather than an adventure in the Gulf, as revealed by GIVEMESPORT.
Salah close to extending his contract?
Salah’s intentions are clear: no encouragement has been given to a new Saudi offer. Al-Ittihad had already tried to lure him back in 2023 with an astronomical offer of £150 million, which the Reds rejected. Now, Al-Hilal appears to be the new contender, particularly given Neymar’s departure and their participation in the upcoming Club World Cup. However, with no positive signals from Salah or his entourage, the enthusiasm of the Saudi leadership has significantly diminished, pushing them to explore other avenues such as Vinicius Jr. or Darwin Núñez.
While the Reds seem confident about the outcome of negotiations with the Egyptian, the club is resigned to losing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is headed to Real Madrid. Liverpool will therefore face a hectic summer, but with the possibility of locking down their number one attacking asset. Salah’s contract extension would send a strong signal to the club in its transition under Arne Slot, while avoiding a colossal loss on the sporting front.
