The state of health of Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder, does not seem to be improving.
At 33, the impact of age could be starting to be felt, as he has played just 400 minutes so far this season. Injured since mid-September with a flexor strain in his leg, he is currently unable to support his team-mates.
Citizens coach Pep Guardiola has expressed some pessimism about the possibility of seeing De Bruyne back on the pitch in the near future, especially with the big games ahead of the team.
Speaking at a press conference, Guardiola said: “Kevin can’t play yet. We hope he’ll feel better after the international break. Although he feels better and can train, he still feels pain when he kicks the ball, which doesn’t allow him to reach the level required for the competition.” With the next international break scheduled for mid-November, it’s unlikely that we’ll see “KDB” again before the 20th of the month.
