Will Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s club, be relegated to the Championship, the equivalent of the second division in England?

The club, which has just won its fourth consecutive Premier League title, has been under investigation for several months.

Manchester City is suspected of violating several rules regarding youth recruitment, and among the possible sanctions that could be imposed if the club is found guilty is the option of relegation to the Championship.

No fewer than 115 charges have been brought against the Manchester club pending the outcome of the investigations.

Even former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has commented on the matter, expressing his interest in the outcome of the legal proceedings.

“Everyone knows about the 115 charges [against Man City], but I have no idea what that means. I only know the number. But I don’t know what they did, if anything, and I’m not here to say they did,” said the German coach.

“We’ll see. Of course, I would like to know [if Man City is guilty] one day. Everyone wants to know. But I will be elsewhere,” Klopp added.

While awaiting the conclusions of the legal process, bookmakers are already considering the possibility of Manchester City being relegated to the Championship next season due to the charges against the club.

According to several bookmakers’ odds, the Manchester club is among the “likely” candidates for relegation from the Premier League next season.

Sports betting experts seem to anticipate a rough patch for Manchester City even before the justice system publicly announces its conclusion on this matter.
