Given Manchester United’s momentum in recent months, Ruben Amorim’s players got a very good result on the Real Sociedad pitch this Thursday evening thanks to their draw (1-1).
Facing the Basques in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League, the Red Devils find themselves in a rather comfortable position before the return match. However, an event came to tarnish this nice evening for the Mancunians: the exit of Alejandro Garnacho, who once again seemed unhappy to be replaced. As a reminder, the Argentinian had done the same against Ipswich last week, and his coach had reacted by ironically saying that he would buy dinner for the whole team. But he repeated it.
And this attitude was noticed in the British media. On TNT Sports, Paul Scholes, a legend of the Old Trafford residents, noted Garnacho’s behavior, while highlighting one of his qualities as a player: “He seemed to be sulking a little bit, in my opinion. Garnacho’s greatest strength is running forward. Sometimes he makes the wrong decisions, but he lacked energy and was sulking a little bit. He will have to improve because they don’t really have any other options.” After this draw, Manchester United will meet Real Sociedad again next Thursday, at home, for the return leg.
