Manchester City continues to strengthen their already well-boosted squad. This summer transfer window, the Skyblues have welcomed Brazilian Savio from Girona.

Scoring 9 goals and providing 10 assists in 37 matches, the 20-year-old has already impressed Pep Guardiola. The Spanish coach had nothing but praise for his new recruit.

Guardiola believes that with his qualities, Savio can play in two different positions.

“He made a great impression at Girona. Savio can play on both wings and also in the middle. We primarily need him on the wings. He is devastating in one-on-one situations with his moves. We have few players who can play on both sides. I would also like to thank Girona because they did an excellent job with him,” Pep Guardiola explained.

The Spaniard has found his new favorite. It should be noted that at Manchester City, there is already Phil Foden, who is coming off a rather remarkable season and also performs well on the left side. It’s a talented group, but one that Guardiola would have no trouble managing.

The winger or attacking midfielder scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists, a personal record, in 34 appearances this season, contributing to the success of his home club, champions of the 2023-2024 Premier League season.

Foden succeeds his teammates De Bruyne (winner in 2019/2020 and 2021/2022), Ruben Dias (2020/2021), and Erling Haaland, last year’s winner.

The Norwegian forward was among the eight players nominated for the prestigious award this year, alongside Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice (Arsenal), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa).
