In a tough spot at Manchester United, Sofyan Amrabat remains highly regarded in Europe. The Moroccan international is reportedly on the radar of a major club on the continent.
Nearly a year after forcing his move to Manchester United, Sofyan Amrabat is facing difficulties. While he had hoped to play a leading role in the Mancunian club, which harbored title ambitions this season, the Lion of the Atlas (56 caps) has failed to make his mark in the lackluster performance of the Red Devils (8th in the Premier League with three games left).
Regularly starting in the first half of the season, the 27-year-old player found himself sidelined after the Africa Cup of Nations. His playing time was drastically cut by six after returning from the national team, from over 1000 minutes to just over 150 minutes.
Amrabat appeals in Italy
Having arrived on loan, Manchester United does not intend to exercise their €20 million buy option. This is according to transfer specialist Nicolo Schira. The breakout star of the last World Cup is thus expected to return to Fiorentina, where his contract expires in June 2025. However, Schira suggests that he is unlikely to linger in Tuscany. He is ready to bounce back elsewhere. His next destination could be AC Milan. According to the same source, the Lombard club is interested in his profile. No offer has been made public yet. But if it materializes, it would be the third Italian team for the native of Huizen after Hellas Verona and Fiorentina. More to follow…
