Brazilian international Marcelo made history at Real Madrid.
During his time at the Madrid club and with the national team, he played with numerous players who left a mark on him.
When asked to select the ideal eleven of players he played with at both club and national team level, the former Real Madrid player unveiled his list, which might not please many Real Madrid fans due to some notable absences.
He surprised many with his choice of goalkeeper.
During his appearance on the Podpah podcast, Marcelo first revealed who, in his opinion, would be best suited to manage his team.
He opted for the duo of Zinedine Zidane and Fernando Diniz, his current coach at Fluminense who also manages the Canarinha.
In defense, Marcelo chose his compatriot Roberto Carlos on the left, Ramos and Thiago Silva in the center, and Brazilian Rafinha to complete the line.
As for the goalkeeper, he preferred to name Keylor Navas over Iker Casillas. He shared the dressing room with both goalkeepers at Real Madrid, but apparently, he has better memories of the Costa Rican…

In the podcast, Marcelo also praises John Kennedy, his current teammate at Fluminense, whom he describes as “a mix between Ronaldo and Romario.”
“I’m not making a comparison, but I’m talking about his way of carrying the ball, his characteristics. He’s incredible. If you watch him in training, you’d say he’s a mix of both [Ronaldo and Romario]. Speed, strength, he’s amazing,” said the former Real captain.
