Italian forward Mario Balotelli, who left Adana Demispor in June at the end of his contract, is now in talks to join a historic South American club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Brazilian club Corinthians is in negotiations with the player, as confirmed by youth team director Claudinei Alves in an interview with ESPN.
Alves also revealed some surprising details aimed at motivating the 33-year-old player. “Corinthians is preparing to offer him a two-year contract. President Augusto Melo is leading the discussions, with two agents negotiating the deal,” explained Claudinei, who didn’t hesitate to outline Balotelli’s demands:
“He wants six million euros for two years, which amounts to three million euros per year.” SuperMario’s ultimate goal, recently spotted reportedly drunk in the streets of Lignano, Italy, is highly ambitious.
Additionally, according to Claudinei, “his intention is to play again for the Italian national team.”
Last season, he scored seven goals in 16 matches in the Turkish league.
Furthermore, Mario Balotelli hasn’t played for the Azzurri since 2018, when Italy drew against Poland in the Nations League.
This situation is one to watch closely. We’ll keep you updated.
