Kylian Mbappé has officially signed with Real Madrid after his contract with PSG expired, just before the start of the Euro with the French national team. The French striker expressed relief during a press conference following his departure, a sentiment echoed by his teammate Benjamin Pavard.
Kylian Mbappé and PSG, their story has come to an end! The 25-year-old forward announced his departure in May, subsequently confirming his move to Real Madrid until 2029 a few weeks later, having reached the end of his contract at Parc des Princes.
Mbappé declined to extend his stay at PSG in favor of a new challenge in Spain, marking a tumultuous end to his time in the French capital amid strained relations with the club’s former management. “I am very happy, relieved, and liberated.”
On June 4th, in a press conference, Kylian Mbappé expressed his relief after leaving PSG for Real Madrid: “It’s a huge pleasure, a dream come true. It’s very emotional. I am very happy, liberated, extremely proud.

Pavard predicts big things for Mbappé
Speaking to Téléfoot on Sunday, Benjamin Pavard confirmed Mbappé’s sense of relief and noted his readiness for the Euro with the French national team: “I feel he’s really good, in shape, even mentally. I think his transfer has also relieved him. He had a slight physical issue, but I know he will have a great competition and do what he does best: score goals.” That’s crystal clear.
