In the margins of the upcoming summer transfer window, PSG is keen on finding a striker to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappé, who announced his departure last week. The pursuit of Lautaro Martinez seems futile given the statements from the player himself and an Inter executive.
Kylian Mbappé will no longer be with PSG next season. The star forward of the Parisian club officially confirmed his departure as a free agent last week. All signs point to him joining Real Madrid this summer. In order to replace the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, Paris Saint-Germain is exploring multiple avenues.
“I want to extend my contract with Inter”
La Gazzetta dello Sport recently reported that PSG’s management had made inquiries to Inter regarding Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine international is contractually tied to the Nerazzurri until June 2026 and is keen on extending his stay in Milan, which began in 2018. “I am very happy in Milan and I want to extend my contract with Inter.”
“I think we will move forward and everyone will be very happy.”
It appears that Inter shares the same sentiment as their striker. Inter’s assistant sporting director, Dario Baccin, spoke to Sky Sport about the mutual desire between Lautaro Martinez and Inter to extend their partnership. “Lautaro, Barella, and Inzaghi? We are working, with everyone, there is a mutual desire to move forward. Of course, there are figures to be settled, but when you start from such a strong relationship and a mutual willingness, there are no problems. For each of them, there is a determined time, but I believe we will move forward and everyone will be very happy.”
