The international break is an opportunity for some players to regain their strength, and it also allows injured players to gain time.
Real Madrid’s medical room is down a few players, but it could be said that at this stage of the season, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad isn’t doing too badly, even though Ferland Mendy has been “lost” for several weeks and probably for at least the first leg of the Champions League against Arsenal.
There’s also Dani Ceballos, who is making progress in his recovery, although he’s not expected for the double-header against his former team, but rather for mid-April or even late April. Fran Garcia, who is suffering from a minor thigh problem, will be available according to the club, as will Jesus Vallejo, who has returned to training, although, in truth, he’s not part of his manager’s plans.
Carvajal and Militao bring good news
Two players remain on the injured list, unfortunately long-term injuries: Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, for whom the news is rather reassuring. Both men are making good recoveries and are both entering the final stretch of the immense mountain to climb to return from such an injury.
Indeed, Dani Carvajal was spotted on the pitch this Wednesday, while the daily AS reports that Militao is also preparing to return to work on the pitch. Probably after the international break.
The big question remains: when will they be able to play for Real Madrid again? Militao’s entourage, interviewed by AS, declined to give a date, but the Madrid club is confident they can return this season. For La Liga or the Champions League, it looks complicated… but for the Club World Cup in June-July, it’s entirely possible.
