Real Madrid already has a certainty for the next two seasons. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has decided to stay until 2026 and then retire, not to move elsewhere but to retire.

Carlo Ancelotti made this announcement in Italy, addressing recent speculation about his future. Just days before facing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1, 2024, the coach expressed his desire to end his career with the Madrid team.

At 64, the Italian sees the end approaching and envisions it with the Merengues. In an interview with ‘La Repubblica,’ he stated, “How long will I coach? As long as I remain at Real Madrid,” making it clear he intends to retire as Real Madrid’s coach. This decision contrasts with previous links to the Brazilian Football Confederation, which considered him for the national team coaching position.

However, Ancelotti’s renewed contract now extends until June 30, 2026. His immediate goal is to win another Champions League, fueled by his passion and enjoyment for elite football at his age.

Ancelotti also addressed the Kylian Mbappé situation, indirectly indicating that Real Madrid has no intention of releasing its foreign internationals who participated in Euro 2024 for the Olympics. This stance was subtly communicated to Mbappé, emphasizing the case of Eduardo Camavinga as an example.

Mbappé, aware of his future club’s intentions, had previously expressed interest in participating in the Olympics but now understands it might not be possible given Real Madrid’s stance.
