It sounds promising for Neymar Junior. The Brazilian forward has been sidelined from the football fields for several months due to a serious injury and could make his grand return with Al Hilal.

According to the Saudi media outlet Al Riyadiah, Neymar’s recovery is progressing well, and the Brazilian could join the team for the upcoming preseason. The striker, who has been spending most of his time in Brazil since his injury, is now back in Saudi Arabia where, as per Al Riyadiah, he has already begun the penultimate stage of his rehabilitation.

Furthermore, under the supervision of his fitness coach, Brazilian Ricardo Rosa, and the team doctor, Spaniard Juan Jiménez, Neymar will focus on running, speed, and balance during this phase.

What’s next for Neymar?

Neymar has a contract with Al Hilal until June 30, 2025, and that might mark the expiration date of his stint in Saudi Arabia.

In April, the forward was reportedly mentioned by players and staff of Santos that he will return to the club in 2025 to play in the Brasileirão. This “confession” occurred, according to the Brazilian media UOL, during Neymar’s visit to Santos’ locker rooms before the first leg of the Paulistao final against Palmeiras.

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira stated in March that Neymar’s return to his former team was an “inevitable path.”

Neymar has never hidden his desire to one day return to his homeland to conclude his career. And FC Santos, his childhood club, is the ideal place to fulfill this dream. Now, it remains to be seen when the former Barcelona player will bid farewell to European football and head back home.
