“It’s important to mobilize to go out and vote,” declared French national team striker Ousmane Dembélé on June 13, 2024.

This call to action was made by the PSG star ahead of the anticipated legislative elections, for which the French Football Federation (FFF) will assist players in setting up proxy votes.

“I believe that an alarm has been sounded regarding the situation in France. We must mobilize together to go and vote,” the player responded to a question about the recent victory of the National Rally in the European elections.

“I was watching the 1 PM news not long ago, and I saw that one out of two French people does not vote,” Ousmane Dembélé initially stated. He continued, “We need to mobilize everyone to go and vote in the legislative elections.”

“The FFF will facilitate the process for us to vote by proxy,” the player added. The Federation explained that arrangements are being made to establish proxies at a consulate near Paderborn, for example, in Düsseldorf.

As a reminder, the legislative elections will take place on June 30 and July 7, 2024.

As for Ousmane Dembélé, he is part of Didier Deschamps’ squad to participate in Euro 2024 with the French team in Germany.

France will kick off their campaign in the competition on June 17, 2024, against Austria.
