PSG didn’t achieve the expected result in their trip to Dortmund on Wednesday night for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Borussia (1-0). Defeated by Edin Terzic’s men, Paris Saint-Germain is determined to turn the tide in the return leg in Paris, just like Ousmane Dembélé, who warned Sébastien Haller.
Encountering another club than Ousmane Dembélé previously associated with didn’t go as well as with FC Barcelona. The PSG forward had found the back of the net in both legs during the Champions League quarter-finals (2-3 and 4-1). But in Dortmund, the story was different on Wednesday night.
PSG beaten in Dortmund, Dembélé warns Haller and BVB
Having spent a season at Borussia Dortmund in 2016/2017, Ousmane Dembélé excelled at BVB under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel. However, during this Champions League semi-final first leg against his former club, Dembélé lacked precision, and PSG eventually succumbed at Signal Iduna Park with a scoreline of one goal to nil.
“Prepare well for the return”
At this moment, Borussia Dortmund would secure their place in the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1st if the aggregate score remained unchanged after the second leg in Paris on Tuesday, May 7th. Nevertheless, Ousmane Dembélé is confident of reversing the situation with his PSG teammates.
After the match, in the mixed zone and during a conversation with Sébastien Haller as reported by Le Parisien, Dembélé allegedly cautioned the Borussia Dortmund striker ahead of the Champions League return fixture at the Parc des Princes. “Prepare well for the return.” According to Le Parisien, Dembélé conveyed this message with a teasing smile and a pat on Haller’s arm.
