Recruited last summer for €50 million, Ousmane Dembélé struggled to adapt to his new life in Paris. But it seems that he has finally found his groove, as the French international winger is scoring goals consistently for Paris Saint-Germain, both in the Champions League and Ligue 1.

Considered one of the greatest talents in French football, Ousmane Dembélé decided to return to Ligue 1 after leaving Stade Rennais in July 2016. However, his impact at PSG was not immediate, especially when it came to scoring goals…

Doubts at PSG

It wasn’t until November 24th that Ousmane Dembélé scored his first goal in PSG colors, in the 24th round of Ligue 1 against AS Monaco (5-2). But things have significantly picked up recently, as he scored a goal in each leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against FC Barcelona, and then a brace this Wednesday night against FC Lorient (1-4).

Finally, the turning point for Dembélé?

OptaJean points out that this is the first time Dembélé has scored in three consecutive matches since August-September 2018, when he was wearing the FC Barcelona jersey. “It’s good to score goals. I’m asked to score more, so I’m happy,” said the PSG player on Wednesday after the match against FC Lorient. “We need to keep going because important matches are coming up. Was there any specific training? No. I’m just positioning myself more in front of the goal, the balls are coming, and I’m putting them in.”
