During the last summer transfer window, PSG got rid of all its stars except Kylian Mbappé. Simultaneously, the Parisian club recruited a significant number of French players. However, as Daniel Riolo asserted this Sunday, Kylian Mbappé never handled PSG’s recruitment.
PSG underwent a major overhaul during the last summer transfer window. To put an end to the flashy era, the club led by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi decided to part ways with all its stars except Kylian Mbappé, including Lionel Messi, Neymar, Marco Verratti, and Sergio Ramos. PSG treated Mbappé well in the transfer market.
At the same time, PSG acquired the services of twelve players in total, including four Frenchmen: Arnau Tenas, Milan Skriniar, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour, Manuel Ugarte, Kang-In Lee, Marco Asensio, Xavi Simons, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Randal Kolo Muani, and Gonçalo Ramos. While PSG’s recruitment suits Mbappé, Daniel Riolo claims he didn’t have a hand in it.
“He never handled the recruitment.”
“Kylian Mbappé? He never handled the recruitment. He just gave an opinion. If the club were strong, if there was a president (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi) who didn’t let everyone walk all over him, he wouldn’t have said anything. If he said something, it’s because he was allowed to. That’s it. (…) Stop saying nonsense, he doesn’t handle the recruitment. It’s not true,” Daniel Riolo exclaimed, speaking on the After Foot (RMC Sport) program this Sunday evening.
