As every summer, PSG is always linked with big names in world football. But the Parisian club is not always interested, and they’ve just proven it by turning down an English football star.
Since PSG was bought by QSI, the club has regularly animated the transfer market. Paris has always wanted to make a big impact by recruiting stars. And every year, PSG is associated with the biggest stars in the world. For the past few seasons, one player in particular has been linked with PSG: Marcus Rashford. The English star is often linked to Paris when he shines or when he’s not performing as well. This season, it’s safe to say the English international is far from his best form.
While he had established himself as the main man in Manchester United’s attack in recent years, he has struggled this season and has completely lost his place under Erik ten Hag. Apart from several behavioral issues, he’s been delivering poor performances, as the statistics show. He has scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 40 matches this season and has even lost his place in the national team. His decline over several months could even see him miss the Euros with England after playing in 4 consecutive international tournaments.
PSG Not Interested in Marcus Rashford
While his future at Manchester United is more than uncertain, the English press was starting to link him elsewhere. In thi
s regard, PSG’s name had come up again a few weeks ago, especially with Kylian Mbappé leaving at the end of the season. But apparently, Paris has clearly communicated to the player that they’re not interested at all, which should shake up Rashford’s future. “PSG has never been interested in signing Marcus. And given his difficulties on and off the field this season, they haven’t paid any attention to it. He won’t join PSG,” said a source close to the matter to The Sun. According to the English media, the player’s entourage reportedly used PSG to negotiate Rashford’s contract extension last season.
He had signed a new contract until 2028 with a salary increase. Since then, PSG seemed to be the only credible way out, especially for the player who had shown signs of weariness in England. But apparently, Luis Enrique is not interested in the player’s profile, and this deal won’t go further than mere rumors. And finally, The Sun even suggests that this could push Marcus Rashford to stay at the Red Devils this summer to revive his career since no club will be able to match in this deal. PSG’s decision will thus force the 26-year-old forward to wake up at his training club…
